José-Ricardo Pereira Lira

Founding partner of Lobo e Lira Advogados, José-Ricardo holds a law degree from PUC-Rio and a Master’s degree in Law from PUC-SP, specializing in diffuse and collective rights. His practice spans transactional law, business structuring, and corporate contracting, as well as litigation before courts, administrative bodies, and arbitral tribunals. On the institutional front, he chairs the Special Commission on Urban and Real Estate Law of the Bar Association of Rio de Janeiro (OAB-RJ) and sits on its Environmental Law Commission. He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Institute (IAB) and the Brazilian Institute of Real Estate Law (IBRADIM), where he served as a director during the inaugural term of the Rio de Janeiro chapter. He has taught at PUC-Rio, covering Contract Law at the undergraduate level and Real Estate Law (Shopping Centers) at the postgraduate level, and at FGV-Rio, where he lectured in Corporate Real Estate Law. A sought-after speaker, he regularly presents at legal conferences and industry events, including those hosted by Abrasce (the Brazilian Shopping Center Association), which he has advised for over three decades. He is the general editor of Legal Aspects of Shopping Centers, published by Abrasce, and the author of numerous articles, book chapters, and a Master’s dissertation entitled Fighting Corruption through the Protection of Diffuse and Collective Rights: Controversial Aspects of Corporate Liability under Brazil’s Anti-Corruption Law.
